About Me

Sharon Capek, M.Sc. Interior Architecture, Pratt Institute.

As a child, I grew up in a family that embraced a pasture-raised food culture, composting, and natural methods over processed or synthetic ones concerning nutrition and health. We had several farms in our family, and I have been an advocate for sustainability in my lifestyle for many years. Now, I am committed to incorporating sustainable principles into our design process at SDC Designs by making choices that align with our values.

I am passionate about my clients' stories and the design challenges they face because that is where real change begins.

As I listen carefully, I often hear what my clients are not saying. This insight helps me create design concepts for residential and commercial spaces within the built environment.

            Co-Living Spaces                          For transitional living

Co-living spaces are modern arrangements promoting community and shared experiences among residents. They feature private bedrooms and shared areas, such as kitchens and living rooms.

They emphasize collaboration and social interaction, appealing to those who prefer connections over isolation. These spaces are gaining popularity in urban areas for their affordability, convenience, and opportunities for social engagement.

At SDC Designs, we are expanding the concept of co-living and the functionality of relationships in various spaces. We are using design to create solutions for people experiencing challenges through transition.

You are a newlywed, but you were previously single. Congratulations, because marriage is beautiful! How do you share a space with someone who thinks the color red is the new white? How will your space reflect the styles of two individuals who are seemingly opposites?

Your elderly parents are moving in, and you are trying to make the transition as smooth as possible. What are your options?

As a new empty nester or someone who has been living alone for many years, how do you plan to use the empty spaces in your home that are currently cluttered with items you no longer cherish? Is the solution getting roommates or downsizing by selling your home?

You have always dreamed of having a space in your home that feels more like your sanctuary because it is yours alone. What does that look like?

There are various options available, and SDC Designs is here to help you create spaces that reflect your new life.
